The California Medical Association (CMA) announced it has resumed direct administration of the CME accreditation program, according to a letter mailed to all CME provider primary contacts on May 28.
CMA, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)-recognized accreditor for California, previously delegated the function to its subsidiary, the Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ). The CMA Board of Trustees determined that the program would benefit from closer proximity and collaboration with other CMA programs and services. CMA appreciates IMQ’s stewardship of CMA’s CME accreditation program over the last 20 years.
In addition to the physical relocation of the CME program to the CMA Sacramento office, CMA intends to achieve closer alignment with the ACCME with this transition. CMA strives to help California CME providers excel and to make California a leader of CME best practices.
CMA recommended files be immediately updated with the following contact information for CME at CMA.
